3 Hour Online Workshop with Joan
In this workshop, you will learn about the muscles and bones surrounding the low back area and evaluate the standing poses and core exercises needed to build strength here.
We will begin with a short discussion on the anatomy of the lower back and how to use the yoga postures to create stability and ease in these vulnerable spaces. An alignment based practice with props and wall space will follow ending with hip openers after a grounding practice that will turn on the legs.
The sacrum is the key to stability in the lower back. It is the fulcrum point in our bodies from which all movement happens. If the surrounding muscles are not stable, the ligaments and joints in the lower back will be stressed.
Hip openers and breath awareness adds to the healing by pacifying the low back. In this workshop you will gain knowledge and tools for your own practice, as well as how to teach it to your students (if you are a yoga teacher).
Benefits: Understand the foundations of standing postures and how we can use our legs support health and strength in the lower back.
All Levels with basic yoga knowledge welcome.
