"Kula" comes from Sanskrit and means, among other things, "community". Yoga helps us to feel connected: to ourselves and to others. In 2008, YogaKula was founded with this intention in Vienna's inner-city district: A studio accessible to all, combining tradition with a modern approach.
Yoga is versatile, universal and cosmopolitan. Yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or physical conditions. For us, it can be a constant in our lives, one that grounds and inspires us.
Over the years, we have expanded our offerings to include regular workshops, events, and teacher trainings. Carefully selected guest teachers and programs inspire not only yoga teachers, but everyone who wants to dive a little deeper into the world of yoga.
YogaKula is a vibrant place to practice, learn and share - come and feel at home!

Erika
I have been practicing movement, dance, yoga and meditation since childhood. After devoting and following the eight limbs of yoga for more than 2 decades, I decided to do the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training here in Vienna and subsequently a 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in the United States. Right after, I started to do training in Yoga for Chronic Pain, Trauma and Anxiety at Stanford University. Also, I attended additional training in Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Adaptive and Trauma Informed Yoga, Functional Anatomy, and Sound Bath Healing in different institutions here and abroad. I also finished a Deep Tissue Massage Therapy Training, Myofascial Release Training and Thai Yoga Massage Training Level III at the Lotus Palm Institute in Canada. Recently, I received my certification as a Yoga Therapist.
I see nothing external to my yoga practice as I find sensitivity, intuition, and insight are to be found through stillness, silence, and connection with the seemingly ordinary world around us and that ultimately no teacher is greater than the one within.
I offer a deep understanding of traditional asanas and specialize both in theory and practice. My teaching focuses on alignment, finding balance between strength and flexibility in every asana and breath awareness.
